With continued use, your wristwatch will tend to accumulate dirt particles that suggest periodic cleaning that you can do yourself.

Before you begin cleaning your watch, make sure the crown of your wristwatch (if any) is screwed all the way down and wash your hands thoroughly with soap.

After rinsing using lukewarm water to remove impurities, employ a microfiber cloth to dry it: you can also use a solution of lukewarm water and ammonia-free soap by gently brushing it with a soft-bristled toothbrush if necessary.

To remove excess water from your watch, in addition to the soft cloth, you can also employ an air jet or a small vacuum cleaner.

Remember to always rinse your wristwatch with fresh water if it should have come in contact with seawater to remove salt and deposits.
